Corona Pandemic
What the Michael Jackson is going on? I was a little late to jump on the grocery store line. They are cleaned out. I placed an Amazon order for disinfecting wipes that will arrive this summer. We’ll be dead by then.
How much do you trust the media? How much do you trust the media about this? Other than watching the news, what is the best way to communicate the message about Coronavirus? I don’t really know how to feel about the fear-based messaging we are getting. I don’t want to hear from a politician - I want to hear from scientists and doctors and people who know about managing pandemics specifically. It feels like dodge ball, everyone is coming at us with their message. Who is most trusted?
I grew up in Florida, late summer through the end of the year was hurricane season. Big hype, no water in the grocery stores, drinking parties, you lose power for a few days, drag the trees out of the road and then resume life. Same with snow days up in the DC area. It can dominate the news and sometimes we get nothing. With Corona, since many people are infected and many have died, it definitely seems more real, urgent, and more serious.
These are definitely strange times. I’m working remotely for the next 3 weeks, my husband is home for 2 weeks. Virginia and really the country is supposed to self-quarantine. Everyone in my family is healthy for now.
Now back to my “worst case scenario” text chain with my family.
